20 Things You Might Not Know About Me

I don't usually give into things like this, but let's be real, we all do at some point. And I figured it'd be a good conversation starter/way to get to know each other (or for you to get to know me).

I want to thank the beautiful Kristen Rose Photography for nominating me to do this. I don't personally know a lot of people who use blogs, so I challenge YOU! Whoever you may be! If you have a blog, or a Facebook, or any form of social media that allows you to ramble, go for it!

Here it goes...

Question 1: How tall are you?
Ermmm...short. 5 feet at the most, might even still be 4'11". I haven't grown more than an inch in the past three years. I wouldn't trade my shortness for anything, however.

Question 2: Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?
I have a photographic memory. Math is my strong point, and I'm really good at memorizing phone numbers. Oh, and if you give me a 1-800 number with letters in it (ex. 1-800-EASTWEST) I can translate the letters to numbers in just a few seconds. In fact, give me any word and I'll translate it to numbers. It's an odd gift I was blessed with. Any suggestions on how to make use of it, let me know. :-)

Question 3: What’s your biggest blog-related pet peeve?
How different Blogger is from Facebook. How annoying it is to use. Why can't it just be simple? I still can't figure out how to use this gosh darn thing.

Question 4: What’s your biggest non-blog related pet peeve?
Reckless grammar. When people say "your awesome" instead of "you're awesome." It's like, what about my awesome?!? YOU'RE. NOT YOUR. Oh, and when people type "defiantly" instead of "definitely." I get it, autocorrect likes to attack you sometimes. But, they are two completely different words and that should be acknowledged. :P

Question 5: What’s your favorite song?
Changes every week. My music taste is very eclectic. Lately I've been too busy to keep up with music but I'd say either Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay or Best I Ever Had by Vertical Horizon (current fave band).

Question 6: What’s your favorite Etsy shop that isn’t yours?
What even is an Etsy shop...

Question 7: What’s your favorite way to spend your free time when you’re alone?
Writing, surfing the internet, doing embarrassing things I can't do when people are around. Drawing. Solving math equations (only in cases of extreme boredom). Online shopping (I need an intervention from this). Taking pictures. Long talks on the phone. Making plans for the near future.

Question 8: What’s your favorite junk food?
Anything chocolate. *insert the guy yelling CHOOOOCOLAAAAATE from Spongebob*

Question 9: Do you have a pet or pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?
Yes! Tucker is my year-old black lab. He's a handsome devil. I also had a cat for 11 years but she passed away a week or two before I left for college. I feel like a terrible person because I forget that and still tell people I still have a cat. So I guess she's there in spirit.

Question 10: What are your number one favorite nonfiction and fiction books?
As lame as it is I loved the Pretty Little Liars series, which I read (part of) last summer and the summer before. I also liked the messages behind Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, which was very emotional and intense. As far as nonfiction goes, I'd say I loved reading the biography of Bethany Hamilton.

Question 11: What’s your favorite beauty product?
Eyeliner, and my EOS if that counts

Question 12: When were you last embarrassed? What happened?
When do I not embarrass myself?
My go-to awkward story happened on the first day of college classes, only about a month ago. I was running late for my second class, and by running I mean legit running. Like, I was practically sprinting (I don't know what I would've done without the Oswego wind, considering it was about 85 degrees that day). When I finally got to the building, I was too tired to run up the stairs so I resorted to taking the elevator. (Background of the story: I am TERRIFIED of elevators. Not so much of elevators themselves, but getting stuck in one. Normally I'm with someone when I take an elevator, but in the rare occasion that I do take one on my own, my tendency is to panic.) I didn't have time to wait for someone else to take the elevator with me, so I pressed the button and stepped in. It landed on the third floor, and...it happened. The doors didn't open. I knew it was bound to happen someday. My life flashed before my eyes at that very moment. I kept pressing the button to open the doors, and I would hear a sound, but they wouldn't open. Finally, I resorted to pressing the call for help button (I hate even admitting I went that far). "What is your emergency?" the voice asked. I shakily answered, "Hi, I'm stuck in an elevator...Sheldon Hall, third floor..." The man on the other end started to say something, but as he spoke, I heard a tiny voice in the background. The man was quiet, and the voice spoke again. "Dear, are you alright?" I nearly slapped myself in the face - the voice was coming from behind me. There was a nice lady standing there, asking if I was okay, probably wondering why I wasn't in a mental institution. Note to self: ELEVATOR DOORS OPEN BEHIND YOU. I'd forgotten this fact since I was so caught up in my anxiety. The lady and I laughed for a few minutes, even though I had to force myself to in order to cover up my humiliation. I explained to her that I am indeed not a psychopath - just an anxious freshman with a deathly fear of elevators. I haven't seen her since, and I hope I never have to again. I don't think I could face her with dignity. Let this be a gift to you - you never have to feel bad about yourself again. If you're having a bad day, just think about this. And remember: when in doubt, LOOK BEHIND YOU.

Question 13: If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Chocolate iced lattes. I'd have to start getting decaf after awhile...

Question 14: What’s your favorite movie?
That's tough, especially since I'm not super into movies. I love romantic comedies - always craving a good laugh. I don't have the patience for serious or emotional movies. Let's see...I recently saw Bridesmaids, which was incredible. I also love My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Question 15: What were you in high school: prom queen, nerd, cheerleader, jock, valedictorian, band geek, loner, artist, prep?
I wouldn't define myself in any particular, stereotypical way. I'm very much my own person. I danced, I was on our Key Club board (community service organization), and I worked at a summer camp; yet I was artsy, independent, and shy. I hang out with wonderful people who actually care about me instead of going for the exclusive, "highly-respected" crowds. I also don't necessarily believe in cliques.

Question 16: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
The country. Ever since coming to Oswego, I've acquired a liking for being out in the country. I love nature, and I enjoy my personal space. Country music is also pretty amazing. I'd like a nice rural area - not quite like a farm, and not a small town in the middle of nowhere. Someplace like Oswego, where there's a nearby town, some shopping centers, and so on. Someplace where I can relax without people being in-my-face all the time. Someplace like Massachusetts that's beautiful year-round.

Question 17: PC or Mac?
PC. I love my Mac but can't stand it.

Question 18: Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boy/girlfriend, spouse?
Did you read #12? I think you can make some inferences about my love life based on that.

Question 19: Favorite celebrity?
There's too many of them. Actors = Drew Barrymore, Jimmy Fallon, Jim Carrey. Singers/artists = Chris Martin, OneRepublic, Bastille, Bon Iver...

Question 20: What blogger do you secretly want be best friends with?
Well, I'm already best friends with an incredible blogger, so that'd be the lovely Kristen Rose Photography :-)

WOw, thanks so much for reading!! I can't believe I had the time to write all that. Blessings to you my friend on this lovely day.

Smile, there's always a reason to be happy.

Peace out, CC

Oswego Photography

Free time in college (or when all of my friends are in class) = photography. Can't get enough of these breathtaking sunsets. :-)
